What person in America doesn’t like cheese dip from the local Mexican restaurant? Definitely not the Morgans! We order a large cheese dip every time we go. I love to do all kinds of “bars” at our Friday Night Porch Party. Sometimes we do a Mexican bar and sometimes a Greek bar. Whatever the bar, I always include cheese dip as the last topping. It just makes everything better! My recipe is a little different than most you will find on the internet. I detect a buttery taste in the cheese dip at restaurants so I add a bit of butter. I also like the bold flavor of a banana pepper so I use those instead of green chilies. I think you will like it.
White Cheese Dip
Ingredients:
1 pound white American cheese from the deli section, cut into chunks
1 pint heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon banana peppers, finely chopped
2 tablespoons of the banana pepper juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Remove and stir with a whisk. Return to the microwave for one minute. Remove and stir. Continue to do this until the mixture is the consistency you like. Add a little more whipping cream or water to thin it down.
