Whiskey Wieners


When I recently saw this recipe in Candice’s uncle’s cookbook, it made me chuckle, and I had to try it. My Lou loves a hotdog, so I knew she would love these. I made them for our last Friday Night Porch Party, and as expected, Lou loved them. She kept going back for more. Perhaps sometimes we make life too complicated, and every so often we should return to something simple like baked weenies!













Drunk Wieners


Ingredients:

3 pounds beef wieners, cut into bite size pieces

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup bourbon

1 cup chili sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Place the wieners in a baking dish in a single layer. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl, and then pour over the wieners. Bake uncovered for 3 hours. Remove from oven and cool a bit before serving.
