If you’ve known me for very long, you know I love to jazz up typical snack foods. Pretzels are no exception. They simply need a little something to make them better. My friend, Laurie Champion, shared this recipe with me. I’m the guy that skips around the pretzels in the homemade trash. I really don’t like them, but I love these! I love to whip up a batch and put a bowl on the bar for Friday Night Porch Party. Anne Scott made a batch for a recent bachelorette trip. They are so much better than a plain ole boring pretzel.
Red Neck Pretzels
Ingredients:
20 ounce package mini pretzels
1 cup vegetable oil
1 package dry ranch mix
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all the ingredients except the pretzels in a large mixing bowl. Add in the pretzels and toss to coat. Transfer to a large cookie sheet and bake about 15-20 minutes. The pretzels will darken a bit. Remove from oven and cool. I store mine in a zip lock bag.
