Layered Bacon and Tomato Dip
Ingredients:
1 sleeve of saltine crackers
1/2 stick of butter, melted
Garlic Salt
5 pieces of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cloves of garlic
handful of fresh basil
2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
salt and pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out the saltine crackers in a single layer. Brush each cracker with melted butter before sprinkling with garlic salt. Bake the crackers for 10 minutes. Remove, cool, and store the crackers in a zip lock until time to serve. Using your small food processor, finely chop the garlic and basil. Combine the garlic and basil with the mayonnaise and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter. Top with the chopped tomatoes. Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper. Lastly, add the bacon. Serve with the seasoned saltines. (Feel free to top with some green onions or fresh basil to add more color)
