Homemade Tortilla Chips

Our friend, Amy, got us hooked on chips from a barbeque restaurant in Oxford, Mississippi called Moe’s. They are the best, and we served them at Olivia and Grant’s wedding on the barbeque nacho bar. The only problem with Moe’s chips is that they are expensive……$22 a bag! This past weekend, Anne Scott and I put our heads together and figured out how to make our own. They will be perfect for your FNPP Nacho Bar!

Homemade Tortilla Chips with BBQ Seasoning

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon salt

Mission extra thin corn tortillas, cut into 6 pieces each, like you cut a pie

Directions:

Combine all the seasonings in a small bowl and set aside. Deep fry the corn tortillas in 350 degree oil until brown and crispy. Sprinkle the chips with the seasoning while they are still hot. I suggest cooking 2 packs of tortillas. They go fast!
