It drives Lou Anne crazy, but I like to play around with recipes to give them my flare. Lou is the opposite. She likes to stick with the original recipe for everything. I don’t understand. I shared Gerard’s Onion Souffle recipe a while back, but to change it up I swapped the sweet onions for green onions. Y’all, it was a game charger. Don’t get me wrong. I love the original recipe, but using the green onions made the dip more savory. I don’t really know why, but it worked. Give it a try.
Green Onion Souffle
Ingredients:
3 bundles of green onions, chopped
3 8-ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 8-ounce jar of grated parmesan cheese
2-3 dashes of hot sauce.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Transfer to a baking dish and bake 45 minutes. The top should be golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm. We serve ours with Triskets, but Wheat Thins work well too.
